“Culture”, as we have been using the term, has referred to “corporate culture”, meaning the behaviors and beliefs that characterize any particular corporate environment.
However, the root meaning of “culture” is “to cultivate” and it refers to “patterns of human activity and the symbolic structures that give such activity significance.” Thus, it has a much broader meaning. “…in its wide ethnographic sense, [it] is that complex whole which includes knowledge, belief, art, morals, law, custom, and any other capabilities and habits acquired by man as a member of society.”*
We believe culture in its broadest context is very important. It generates a sense of significance and personal fulfillment that inspires people to reach their fullest potential. That, in turn, has a tendency to translate into maximum productivity for corporations-as well as the entire socio-economic structure. With that in mind, we offer the following miscellaneous items of cultural interest.
